Rule Zero: Begin with Nothing

Picture this: You’ve just finished work and pulled into your parking spot. You grab your bag, lock the car, and head up the stairs to your front door. Your keys turn in the lock, the door swings open, and you drop your keys on the table, your bag at its side. You walk straight to the bathroom, feeling the weight of the day pressing down on you.

One by one, you peel off your clothes until nothing remains. Piece by piece, you strip off the weight of work, of life, of expectation. By the time you step into the shower, you have nothing left—no clothes, no titles, no distractions. Just you, bare and exposed. In this moment, stripped of everything—no bag, no keys, no clothes— it is only you and your thoughts. Nothing else.

The fact, is, we begin the day with nothing, and we end the day with nothing. Everything that happens in between—work, worries, victories, losses—is just a passing through.

To begin transformation, you must first accept this: the only thing you truly own is your awareness. Strip everything else away, and what remains is the raw, unshakable core of who you are.

Rule Zero is not about loss—it is about freedom. When you realize that everything you cling to is temporary, you stop fearing what can be taken. You stop chasing what does not last. You start living from the only place that is real: the present, unadorned moment.

And from this place of nothing, everything becomes possible.
